A catch-up with ezytreev’s newest member, Rob Taylor…

Rob Taylor has been working within our ezytreev team on our tree management system for a number of months now so we thought we’d have a catch up with him to let you know how he’s getting on…

How have you found it so far since joining the ezytreev team?

Since joining ra it has been a steep learning curve, but a very enjoyable one; learning not only the more technical aspects of the tree management software but also getting to know many of our customers and their individual circumstances. Over the last few months I have worked closely with a number of our current customers to help them with implementing changes to their systems, as well as with the addition of new modules. I have really enjoyed this as it has given me the chance to get to know and develop working relationships with our clients. I even get to go out and look at a few trees sometimes! I am also currently leading my first new customer ezytreev install, co-ordinating the input of all those involved to ensure the system is delivered smoothly and meets with the tree officers’ requirements.

How was your first ezyTPO training workshop?

As well as supporting Rachel with the Tree Data and Works Ordering training workshops, I lead my first workshop on the 19th of last month, which focused on TPOs. It was well attended and everyone seemed to enjoy it, I certainly did. We covered a number of different methods for how to survey/make/vary TPOs and I hope everyone went away with a better understanding of the module and an idea of something they might do differently.

What are your objectives going forward?

My main priority over the coming months is to be able to recognise as many ezytreev users as possible by the time of the Arb Conference! But aside from that, the new installs and supporting existing users, I will also be working closely with our developers as they progress towards the roll-out of ezytreev 2.0, to make sure the user interface is as intuitive as possible.

…so watch this space!

ezytreev Sponsors 2016 fund4trees’ Ride for Research Bike Ride

Founder of fund4trees Russell Ball is currently undertaking his 3rd solo ‘Ride for Research’ bike ride – this time from Gibraltar to London – and ezytreev are proud to be co-sponsors along with Gristwood and Toms.

Russell set off from Gibraltar on the 10th October after a session planting trees at a local school.  He has ridden across Spain, stopping for planting sessions along the way, and is currently making his way across France towards the ferry back to the UK.   When he reaches Britain again he will cycle to Kew Gardens where his journey will end this Friday, the 28th October. There will be a welcoming committee at Kew to celebrate his impressive expedition including our ezytreev consultant Rachel Judge.   But before he gets to enjoy some rest after his 1,500 mile epic adventure he will plant a final tree in Kew Gardens.

This is all to promote sustainable treescapes and to raise awareness of how trees enrich our urban environments.  See the @ezytreev or @RfR_Ball twitter pages for more details.
